Obverse description Central device features the royal monogram of Frederick III — an elaborate interlaced cipher composed of two mirrored 'F' letters surmounted by a large royal crown — set within a plain inner circle. The monogram is rendered in a bold, decorative style characteristic of Danish Baroque coinage of the period. The circumferential legend reads DOMINVS PROVI DEBIT in Latin, separated by small rosette stops, running clockwise around the periphery of the coin.
