Obverse description Draped bust of Frederick Adolphus, Count of Lippe, facing right, with long flowing curled wig in the baroque style. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the drapery at the truncation. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy along the border.

Reverse description Central field displays the denomination in three lines reading '1/4' above 'DVCAT', flanked by floral ornaments to either side of the fraction, with the date '1714' below and the mintmaster's initials 'H L' at the base. The entire design is enclosed within a milled border. The lettering is bold and deeply struck in the baroque tradition.
