附加信息

Charles III of Hungary — better known as Holy Roman Emperor Charles VI — spent much of his reign preoccupied with the Pragmatic Sanction, the legal instrument he cajoled European powers into accepting so his daughter Maria Theresa could inherit his domains. Hungarian acceptance came at a price: significant concessions to the Magyar nobility. The fractional ducat issues of his final years were struck at Kremnitz, the dominant Hungarian mint since the medieval period, drawing on gold from the same Carpathian mining districts that had made Hungary the wealthiest bullion source in medieval Europe.

The three-year window of this issue aligns with the last phase of his reign before his death in October 1740.
