Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Prince Charles August Frederick facing right, with flowing curled hair rendered in fine relief. The effigy is set within a beaded border, with the abbreviated Latin legend CAROL D G PR WALD arranged around the periphery. The portrait displays the characteristic Baroque style of mid-18th century German princely coinage, with naturalistic facial features and draped shoulders partially visible at the truncation.

Reverse description Central device consisting of an eight-pointed star displayed within an oval cartouche surmounted by a princely crown, all flanked by decorative foliate or laurel branches forming an ornamental frame. The circular Latin motto legend ARDUA AD GLORIAM VIA surrounds the composition, punctuated by separating dots, with the date 1741 appearing in the exergue below the cartouche. The entire design is contained within a beaded border, consistent with the medallic style of Waldeck-Pyrmont gold coinage of this period.
