| 正面描述 | Panoramic view of the city of Regensburg (Ratisbon) with its skyline of towers, steeples, and fortifications rendered in fine detail, with a river and bridge visible in the foreground. Above the cityscape, a radiant All-Seeing Eye of Providence within a triangle emits diverging rays over the city. The circular legend PROSPICIENTE DEO surrounds the upper field, with RATISBONA appearing in the exergue below the city view. The milled border frames the composition. |

Regensburg's fractional gold issues of the 1740s were struck at a moment when the city was hosting the Immerwährender Reichstag — the Perpetual Diet of the Holy Roman Empire, which had sat there continuously since 1663. The presence of imperial delegates, foreign envoys, and their considerable retinues created genuine local demand for small-denomination gold suitable for daily transactions among a wealthy transient population.
KM#361 is among the more elusive of the city's quarter ducat types; Regensburg's mint output was never large, and fractional gold wore or was melted at higher rates than full ducats.
