Reverse description The reverse presents a five-line Latin inscription within an ornate cartouche formed by elaborate acanthus-scroll strapwork, typical of 17th-century Swiss civic coinage. The legend reads MONE / TA NOVA / REIPVB / TIGVRIN / 1666, expanding to MONETA NOVA REIPUBLICAE TIGURINAE (New coin of the Republic of Zürich), with the date 1666 displayed at the foot of the cartouche. The entire composition is enclosed within a plain inner border and a finely dentilated outer rim.
