| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse depicts a cartographic outline of the State of Texas with a single five-pointed star superimposed upon it, referencing the state's sobriquet as the Lone Star State. A lariat rope frames the central design in a circular fashion, symbolising the state's cattle ranching and cowboy heritage as well as its frontier legacy. The state name TEXAS and the date of statehood 1845 appear above the central device, while the inscriptions THE LONE STAR STATE, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the issue year 2004 are distributed around the design. The engraver's initials NEN for Norman E. Nemeth are present in the field. |
