Reverse description The reverse depicts an outline map of the state of Ohio as the central design element, within which appear two emblematic figures honoring Ohio's aviation heritage: a Wright Brothers-style early biplane to the left and a fully suited NASA astronaut standing to the right, referencing Ohio-born astronaut Neil Armstrong. The motto BIRTHPLACE OF AVIATION PIONEERS is inscribed within the map outline to the lower left. OHIO arcs along the upper periphery above the statehood date 1803, while the date 2002 and the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM appear along the lower rim. The designer's initials DW appear within the lower portion of the map.
