| Reverse description | Central design depicting a mill girl operating a power loom, with the prominent circular bobbin battery rendered in fine detail, emblematic of Lowell's industrial textile heritage. Through a window behind the figure, a panoramic view of the Lowell cityscape is visible, prominently featuring the Boott Mill clock tower. The state name LOWELL and MASSACHUSETTS appear as part of the inscription, with the date 2019 and the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM completing the legend. The design, engraved by Phebe Hemphill, is struck in high relief on this five-ounce silver bullion issue. The composition celebrates Lowell National Historical Park as part of the America the Beautiful Quarters Program. |

| Additional information |
Lowell, Massachusetts was the planned industrial city — built from scratch in the 1820s to house textile mills powered by the Merrimack River's diverted flow. It became the model for American industrial capitalism and, less celebrated, the site of some of the earliest organized labor actions by women workers in the United States. The National Historical Park was established in 1978 specifically to preserve the canal system and mill buildings rather than a battlefield or monument.
This five-ounce silver issue belongs to the America the Beautiful bullion series, which ran from 2010 through 2021. The Lowell release was one of five parks struck in 2019.
