| Obverse description | Left-facing draped bust of George Washington, modeled after Laura Gardin Fraser's classic portrait design, occupies the central field. The legend LIBERTY arcs along the upper rim, while the motto IN GOD WE TRUST appears in three lines to the left of the portrait. The date 2023 is positioned at the lower right, with the S mint mark of the San Francisco Mint immediately below. The engraver's initials LGF are incused at the base of Washington's neck truncation. |
