The design, created by Renata Gordon and engraved by Ronald D. Sanders, highlights the park's ancient Bristlecone Pine groves, some of whose individual specimens exceed 4,000 years in age, making them among the oldest living organisms on Earth. The inscription GREAT BASIN arcs along the upper legend, with NEVADA and the date 2013 flanking the lower field, and E PLURIBUS UNUM appears in the mid-field. Designer initials RG and RS are present in the design field. |
