| Beschrijving voorzijde | Left-facing draped bust effigy of George Washington, the first President of the United States, rendered in high relief after the classical portrait tradition. The hair is styled in the period fashion with a queue tied at the nape, and fine details of the facial features and clothing are crisply struck. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA arcs along the upper periphery, while QUARTER DOLLAR curves along the lower border. The motto LIBERTY appears to the left of the portrait and IN GOD WE TRUST is inscribed in the right field. The initials JF appear at the base of the truncation. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
The American Memorial Park quarter is one of the five 2019 releases in the America the Beautiful series, which Congress authorized in 2008 to run through 2021. The park in Saipan commemorates the roughly 13,000 American and 55,000 Japanese and Okinawan combatants and civilians who died during the 1944 Battle of Saipan — one of the most brutal engagements of the Pacific Theater, and the loss that directly prompted the resignation of Japanese Prime Minister Tōjō Hideki.
The five-ounce silver bullion version mirrors the circulating quarter design exactly but was never intended for commerce. Collector demand for the format has been consistent since the series launched its bullion strikes in 2010.
