Reverse description A bald eagle in dynamic flight is depicted in high relief at center, wings fully spread and body angled downward to the right, conveying powerful motion. The legend UNITED·STATES OF AMERICA curves along the upper periphery, with thirteen five-pointed stars arranged on either side flanking the upper field. The motto E·PLVRIBVS VNVM appears in two lines in the upper central field, rendered in a Roman lapidary style consistent with the original MacNeil design. The denomination QUARTER·DOLLAR is inscribed along the lower periphery, completing the legend.
