Reverse description A heraldic American-style eagle displayed with wings spread and head turned to the right, perched upon an olive branch and a bundle of arrows — emblems of peace and strength respectively. The eagle bears a vertically striped shield upon its breast. The upper legend IN GOD WE TRUST arcs across the top of the field, flanked by small five-pointed stars at either side at mid-field. The denomination QUAR. DOL. and the date 1889 are disposed around the lower periphery, with additional small stars as separators. The design is enclosed by a fine dentilated border.
