| Obverse description | Within a recessed circular cartouche at the centre of the rectangular gold-plated flan, the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II faces right, rendered after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley. The Queen is shown with a diadem and draped in robes. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left border of the cartouche and SOLOMON ISLANDS along the upper right, with the denomination 1/4 DOLLAR at the right. The date 2015 appears below the portrait, and the engraver's initials IRB are incuse beneath the truncation. The surrounding rectangular field is left plain and mirror-like. |
