Beschrijving keerzijde A full-colour photographic panorama depicting the iconic karst limestone peaks of Guilin, China, as seen from the Li River. Numerous dramatic conical formations rise steeply from a verdant tree line reflected in the calm, pale blue waters of the foreground river. The scene is bathed in natural daylight beneath a partly clouded sky, rendered across the entire rectangular field in vivid polychrome colour printing. No inscriptions or legends appear on the reverse, allowing the landscape composition to fill the flan entirely.

Aanvullende informatie

Cook Islands has issued commemorative fractional dollars under license arrangements since the 1970s, and by 2016 the program had expanded to include Chinese scenic destinations — Guilin among them, given its international recognition as one of the most photographed landscapes in southern China. These pieces circulate nowhere and exist entirely as collectibles sold through wholesale distributors, largely to the Chinese tourist market.
