Reverse description A full-color reproduction of Caspar David Friedrich's Romantic masterpiece 'Chalk Cliffs on Rügen' (c. 1818) occupies the entire rectangular field. The composition depicts three figures — a woman in a red dress kneeling at the left, a man in dark clothing crouching at center, and a standing figure in a hat at the right — gazing into a dramatic vertiginous gap between towering white chalk cliffs that plunge toward the Baltic Sea below. Gnarled trees frame the upper portion of the scene, their branches arching over the void, while the pale blue sea and distant coastline are visible through the central opening. The color application faithfully reproduces Friedrich's Romantic palette, rendering the sublime contrast between the luminous white cliffs and the misty, light-suffused horizon.
