| 背面描述 | A full-color reproduction of Gustav Klimt's celebrated 1907 oil painting 'Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I' covers the entire face of the rectangular planchet. The subject, Adele Bloch-Bauer, is depicted in three-quarter view against a richly ornamented golden background composed of Byzantine-influenced geometric and spiral motifs. Her figure is enveloped in a shimmering gold and silver gown adorned with eye-shaped and rectangular decorative elements, rendered in vivid polychrome enamel printing. The composition faithfully replicates Klimt's distinctive Jugendstil aesthetic, with the mosaic-like background of interlocking circles, squares, and spirals rendered in warm gold, amber, and red tones contrasting with the pale flesh tones of the subject's face and hands. |

Cook Islands has issued an enormous volume of commemorative legal tender since the 1970s, much of it aimed squarely at collector markets rather than circulation. This piece commemorates Adele Bloch-Bauer I — the 1907 Klimt painting at the center of one of the most publicized art restitution cases of the postwar period. Maria Altmann spent nearly eight years in legal battles against the Austrian government before a 2004 arbitration panel ruled in her favor, and the painting was sold to the Neue Galerie New York in 2006 for a reported $135 million.
