Issued to mark the coronation of Charles III on 6 May 2023, this is one of dozens of near-identical pieces struck for Commonwealth and associated nations by the same handful of contracted mints. Barbados became a republic in November 2021, removing the monarch as head of state — making a Barbadian coronation commemorative a commercially motivated product rather than an official state issue in any meaningful sense.
