Reverse description Central cruciform arrangement of four crowned heraldic shields, set saltire-wise and separated by floral and national emblems — a thistle for Scotland, a rose for England, a fleur-de-lis for France, and a harp for Ireland — with the royal cipher CR interlaced at the centre. The shields bear the arms of Scotland (lion rampant) at top, Ireland (harp) at left, France (fleurs-de-lis) at bottom, and England (three passant guardant lions) at right. A large imperial crown surmounts the composition at the top. The date 1676 is divided across the upper field flanking the crown, and the peripheral legend · SCO ANG · FR ET · HIB REX · encircles the design, reading the King's territorial titles. A beaded inner border and reeded rim complete the reverse.
