| 正面描述 | The obverse field is entirely occupied by a multi-line Arabic Kufic religious legend arranged in three horizontal registers within a plain inner circle. The inscription contains the Shahada and the name of the Fatimid Caliph Ali az-Zahir. A double linear border with a marginal Kufic legend encircles the central field, the whole presenting the characteristic aniconic epigraphic style of Fatimid gold coinage. The strike is slightly irregular, consistent with the hand-hammered technique employed at the Sicilian mint. |
