| Reverse description | Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic inscription in Maghribi script arranged in horizontal registers, conveying religious formulae and ruler titulature consistent with Marinid quarter-dinar coinage struck at Sijilmasa. The uppermost register features prominent upward-projecting letter strokes, giving the legend a distinctive crowned appearance. A row of small pellets forms a decorative border element beneath the uppermost line of text. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped at the edges, characteristic of hammered gold coinage of this era. The relief of the legends is bold, though some areas of the flan show weakness due to the hand-striking process. |
