Obverse description Green and brown on multicolour underprint, with a complex guilloche border and ornamental corner rosettes bearing the fraction value 1/4. A vignette of Roman ruins with an arch and columns occupies the left centre, set against a fine lathe-work background. Arabic inscriptions of the issuing authority appear at top centre within a framed panel, with the denomination in Arabic script at centre and a manuscript signature below, flanked by serial number at lower left.

Reverse description Green on multicolour underprint with a pink and pastel geometric guilloche centre. A vignette of a historic fortress wall with flanking towers — identified by Arabic inscription as Qasr Murzuq — occupies the centre, with tall palm trees rising above the battlements. The English denomination ONE QUARTER DINAR appears at bottom centre within a decorative banner, with the issuing authority in English at top and the fraction value 1/4 repeated in the four corners.
