| Obverse description | A pomegranate fruit in full bloom occupies the centre of the field, depicted in relief with its characteristic seeded interior visible through an opening at the top, set upon a naturalistic stem with flanking leaves and budding branches. The design is rendered in a simple but detailed engraving style consistent with mid-19th century Colombian coinage. The date appears in large numerals along the lower portion of the field, below the plant motif. The coin's milled border forms a beaded inner rim encircling the entire design. |
