| 背面描述 | Central field displays the Hebrew Tetragrammaton (יהוה, Jehovah) in large archaic Hebrew characters set within a plain inner circle, itself surrounded by a prominent radiant sun with alternating straight and wavy rays emanating outward to a beaded border. The Latin legend MONETA NOVA encircles the design in the outer margin, with a small floral ornament serving as a stop, and a crowned ornament visible at the top. |

Karl, Duke of Södermanland, struck this issue in 1599 while still officially acting as regent — he wouldn't formally claim the Swedish crown until 1604. The "Lord Protector" title used on this type reflects a deliberate ambiguity: he had just deposed and imprisoned his nephew Sigismund III following the Battle of Stångebro that same year, but legitimizing that seizure of power took time. The coinage preceded the kingship, functioning as much as a political statement as a monetary instrument.
The Type I designation distinguishes it from later die revisions made within the same year.
