Reverse description A composite, curved heraldic shield bearing the quartered coat of arms of the Barony of Batenburg, surmounted by two crested helmets with elaborate lambrequins or mantling issuing from each side. The overall heraldic composition is characteristic of the regional Dutch lordship coinage of the late sixteenth century. The surrounding legend, contained within the field, reads MONETA NOVA ARGENTEA B, identifying this as the new silver money of Batenburg.
