Obverse description Square klippe flan struck with three counter-stamp impressions applied to a plain silver planchet. At center, the municipal arms of Zierikzee are displayed within a beaded circle. Above, a smaller shield bearing the arms of Zeeland is similarly enclosed within a beaded circle. Below, the date 1576 appears within an ornate decorative frame. The three stamps are individually applied, reflecting the improvised nature of this siege coinage produced under wartime duress.
