| Obverse description | Central field bears the elaborate tughra (imperial monogram) of Sultan Mahmud II, rendered in ornate calligraphic style with characteristic upward projecting shafts and interlocking loops. The tughra is set within a plain inner border and surrounded by a decorative foliate and arabesque wreath that encircles the entire design. The coin's milled edge is visible at the periphery. Weight varies between 0.38 and 0.40 grams across the series. |
