Obverse description Irregularly shaped hammered flan enclosed by a beaded border. The field is occupied by a multi-line Arabic legend in flowing thuluth script, presenting the tughra-style name and titles of Ottoman Sultan Selim III arranged in horizontal registers across the coin's surface. The calligraphic inscription fills the entire central field with bold, interlocking letterforms characteristic of late 18th-century Ottoman mint practice. The beaded inner border follows the irregular contour of the flan.
