Obverse description Hammered irregular flan bearing a three-line Arabic legend distributed across the field, reading 'Sultan Abdul Hamid Khan, may his victory be glorified.' The inscription is rendered in a bold, angular script characteristic of Ottoman-era Algerian coinage, with the text occupying nearly the entire obverse surface. A fine toothed or beaded border encircles the legend. The die is struck off-center, as is typical for this hammered provincial issue, resulting in partial legend visibility near the margins.
