Beschrijving keerzijde The conquering Lion of Judah, the imperial symbol of Ethiopia, depicted in full stride to the right, wearing a crown and carrying a cross-topped staff bearing a flowing banner. Two six-pointed stars flank the lion in the field. A circular Ge'ez legend reading the traditional dynastic motto surrounds the design, with a denomination inscription in Ge'ez script along the lower exergue. The entire design is enclosed within a dentilated border, struck to proof standard with deeply mirrored fields.

Aanvullende informatie

Ethiopia's 1931 coinage series was issued to mark the formal coronation of Haile Selassie I in November 1930, replacing the older Menelik II-era types that had circulated for decades. These pieces were struck at the Paris Mint. The pattern designation reflects that not all proposed denominations or die combinations entered full production — KM# P13 documents a variant that was evaluated but did not advance to a confirmed circulation issue.
