Obverse description The obverse displays the national coat of arms of Panama centrally positioned in the field, featuring a quartered shield with a cornucopia, an eagle displayed atop, and flanking sprigs of foliage below. A row of nine stars arcs above the shield. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE PANAMA runs along the upper periphery, with the silver fineness LEY 0.900 inscribed to the left of the arms and the weight GR. 6.25 to the right. The date 1953 appears in the exergue at the base of the design.
