Obverse description Central field depicts a panoramic view of the harbour and fortifications of Muscat, featuring Al Jalali Fort prominently among towers, palaces, and palm trees, with sailing vessels rendered in the foreground waters. The denomination '1/4 ANNA' appears in the lower field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire design, reading 'IMAM OF MUSCAT & OMAN SULTAN FESSAL BIN TOORKY', enclosed within a finely beaded border. The engraving is executed in a detailed pictorial style typical of late 19th-century colonial coinage.
