| Beschrijving keerzijde | Hammered gold field bearing a Devanagari legend recording the regnal date and the ruling authority of Rajesvara Simha Suprempha, consistent with Ahom coinage conventions of the mid-eighteenth century. The inscription is crudely but boldly struck across the irregular flan surface, with characters distributed in the field in the manner typical of Assam mohur fractions. The surface exhibits the characteristic uneven texture and flow lines produced by hand hammering on a small gold planchet. The date inscription corresponds to the Saka or Ahom calendrical system as used on contemporary Assam issues. |
