| Obverse description | The city arms of Nuremberg — a quartered shield bearing the imperial eagle and diagonal bars — surmounted by a royal crown, set within two flanking palm branches. The shield is rendered in high relief on the square klippe flan, with beaded borders framing the composition on all four sides. The overall design is typical of the small hammered gold klippe issues produced by Nuremberg in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. |
