Christian Günther III ruled Schwarzburg-Sondershausen through the entire Seven Years' War, and this issue dates precisely to its conclusion — the Peace of Hubertusburg was signed in February 1763, ending a conflict that had left the small Thuringian principality economically exhausted and repeatedly crossed by competing armies. Emergency and celebratory coinage from minor German states clustered thickly around 1763 for exactly this reason.
The two-year span of this issue suggests production continued into 1764 to meet demand the initial striking couldn't satisfy.
