| 背面描述 | A full-length portrait of a Yorkshire Terrier standing in profile to the left, rendered in fine detail with its characteristic long, flowing silky coat and top-knot bow. The Gibraltar coat of arms — a castle with a key — appears in the upper right field, with the Pobjoy Mint privy mark to its lower right. Below the dog, the inscription AU · 1/25 OZ · 999.9 is incused across the lower field, with ROYAL in larger lettering along the base. A beaded border frames the design. |

Gibraltar's Royal series, launched in the 1990s, was produced by the Pobjoy Mint and became one of the more commercially aggressive small-denomination bullion programs of its decade, targeting collectors rather than any functional monetary use. The Yorkshire Terrier issue belongs to an annual dog-breed rotation that ran across multiple fractional denominations simultaneously, generating an unusually large number of distinct type coins within a single calendar year.
At 1.24 g of .9999 fine gold, the actual bullion content is negligible — the premium on these has always been collector-driven from day one.
