The quartered shield displays the arms of England (lions passant guardant), France (fleurs-de-lis), Scotland (lion rampant), and Ireland (harp), framed by elaborate acanthus scroll mantling. The surrounding legend reads '1.25 OUNCE · GUINEA · 999 SILVER' arranged along the inner border, with the East India Company monogram mintmark (EIC) appearing at the base of the field.
