Obverse description The obverse of the larger Holey Dollar component features a small effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, after the third portrait by Raphael Maklouf, positioned at the top of the field above the central aperture. The legends ELIZABETH II and AUSTRALIA arc around the upper field, with ONE DOLLAR inscribed along the lower arc, all separated by raised dot stops. A beaded border encircles the entire design. Centrally inset within the aperture is the smaller Dump coin, itself bearing a second effigy of the crowned Queen with the legends ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, and 25 CENTS arranged around the portrait within its own beaded border.
