Reverse description The reverse of the Holey Dollar displays a stylised representation of an original Spanish colonial eight-reales coin rendered in high relief with foliate and feather motifs filling the annular field, evoking the historical source coins used for the 1813 New South Wales Holey Dollar. The outer legend reads ONE OUNCE · THE HOLEY DOLLAR · 999 SILVER · 1988, arcing around the beaded border. Inset at the centre is the Dump component, whose reverse depicts two standing indigenous figures in ceremonial dress facing each other, encircled by the inscription QUARTER OZ · THE DUMP · 999 SILVER · 1988 within its own beaded border.
