Issued as part of the Isle of Man's long-running Crown fractional gold program, this piece belongs to a 2003 Shakespeare commemorative series timed loosely around continued global interest in the 1603 accession of James I — the monarch who took Shakespeare's playing company under royal patronage, renaming them the King's Men.
