Additional information

Händel spent the bulk of his career in London after emigrating from Halle in 1712, eventually becoming a naturalized British subject in 1727 — the same year he composed the four anthems for George II's coronation, including "Zadok the Priest," still performed at every British coronation since. The Isle of Man issued numerous small-denomination gold fractionals in this period under licensing arrangements that made them technically legal tender on the island while targeting the collector bullion market almost exclusively.
