The queen's draped bust is rendered in high relief against a polished field. The legend ELIZABETH arcs along the left rim, ISLE OF MAN along the right, and the date 1996 appears at the lower right, separated by a raised dot. Aanvullende informatie

The Isle of Man's cat crown series, launched in 1988, became one of the more commercially successful bullion programs of its era precisely because it changed designs annually — a deliberate marketing decision by the Pobjoy Mint that drove collector demand beyond typical bullion buying patterns. The Burmese was featured across multiple years in the series, making cross-year variety collecting a secondary market in itself.

At 1/25 oz platinum, this denomination was aimed squarely at entry-level precious metal collectors when platinum was trading at a premium over gold.
