Obverse description Central shield bearing the arms of ducal Saxony — barry of ten or and sable with a bend of crancelin — set within an elaborate asymmetrical baroque cartouche of scrolling acanthus foliage. The shield is surmounted by a ducal crown rendered in fine detail. The circular Latin legend curves along the upper periphery of the coin, reading FRIEDERICH HERZ. SACHS., interrupted by the crown at the apex. The overall composition is characteristic of mid-eighteenth-century German princely coinage, with deeply cut, high-relief ornamental work filling the field.
Obverse script Latin
Obverse lettering FRIEDERICH HERZ. SACHS.
