Obverse description Central field displays the quartered arms of the Archbishopric of Erfurt, featuring the characteristic divided heraldic shield surmounted by an ecclesiastical hat or mitre. The shield is divided into multiple quarters bearing the traditional arms associated with the see, rendered in relief against a plain field. No legend is present on the obverse, the design occupying the majority of the flan.
