Reverse description Imperial orb surmounted by a cross pattée, enclosing the denomination numeral '24' within the orb, with the date divided on either side of the orb in the field. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle and surrounded by a Latin legend referencing Emperor Rudolf II as Holy Roman Emperor. The reverse follows the standard type of the 1⁄24 Thaler coinage of the Empire, with the legend reading RUDOL.I.RO.IMP.SEM.AU. and the last two digits of the year (98) incorporated into the legend.
