| 正面描述 | Displayed Hohenzollern eagle with the quartered Hohenzollern arms on its breast, occupying the central field. The date 1740 appears in the field divided by the eagle's wings. A circular legend runs along the entire periphery, denoting the coin's standard in relation to the Electoral Saxon and Brandenburg coinage conventions. |

Frederick III of Brandenburg-Bayreuth died in 1763, but 1740 marks the year Frederick the Great ascended the Prussian throne — an event that reordered political calculations across the Franconian circle and put smaller Hohenzollern territories like Bayreuth in an awkward position of nominal kinship with an increasingly dominant cousin state. Billon issues of this type circulated heavily in regional trade and were frequently debased by successor mints attempting to stretch silver supplies during the mid-century wars.
