| Reverse description | The central field bears a large denomination inscription in four lines reading 24 / EINEN / THALER / 1757, indicating this piece's value as one twenty-fourth of a Thaler and the date of issue. The date 1757 appears at the base of the inscription. A continuous Latin legend surrounds the central text within a beaded inner border and a second outer beaded border, reading DUX SAX : S : R : I : ARCH : ET ELECT :, citing August III's title as Duke of Saxony, Arch-Marshal and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire. The overall design is crisp and well-centered, consistent with the fine workmanship of the Dresden Mint. |
