Fryderyk Christian was elected Prince of Poland in October 1763 but died just six weeks later, on December 17th, making his Polish coinage among the shortest-lived in Commonwealth history. The Dresden mint — operating under Saxon authority — struck issues in his name during this vanishingly brief window between his father Augustus III's death and his own.
Kopicki 11548 is among the rarer types from this transitional period, produced before the Saxon-Polish monetary union effectively collapsed with the end of Wettin rule.
