| Obverse description | Central circle contains a palm tree rising above a crenellated wall with three horizontal courses of stonework, all rendered in bold relief. The central device is enclosed within a raised inner circle, around which flows a continuous Arabic legend in the field. The Hijri date 1382 appears prominently at the base of the coin below the inner circle, with the word 'Sana' (year) beneath it. The overall style reflects the traditional Yemeni minting aesthetic of the early republican period. |
